PokePotential Article #4: The Minotaur
The Minotaur was a creature of Greek mythology that was found in the center of the Labyrinth on the island of Crete. It is described as a monster having the head of a bull and the body of a man.
The legend says that King Minos of Crete was awarded a white bull by the god Poseidon. Poseidon commanded King Minos to sacrifice the Cretan Bull as an act of obedience. Minos did not kill the bull and as punishment, Aphrodite made Minos’ wife, Pasiphaë, fall in love with and mate with the bull. This is how the Minotaur was born. The Minotaur was eventually slain by the hero Theseus, who navigated the labyrinth with the help of Ariadne, the daughter of King Minos and Pasiphaë. Ironically, Ariadne is also The Minotaur’s half-sister.
Minotaur also refers to any creatures resembling the Minotaur in fantasy fiction.
Not much needs to be said about the design. Just make a Minotaur in the Pokemon style. Base it around a particular element perhaps, or even have it share similarities with Tauros.
I imagine it would be well suited as a single-stage Pokemon. It could also work well as a Legendary Pokemon.
I remember reading something on the blog fakemon a few months ago about the Minotaur being a good basis for a Fairy/Fighting type Pokemon and I couldn’t agree more.
It could also be pure Fighting-type, or any Fighting-type combination. Rock/Fighting, Steel/Fighting, and Dark/Fighting all immediately come to mind.
You could even expand on the concept of the Minotaur being found in the Labyrinth and use the concept of a hedge maze, and give the Pokemon a Grass or Grass/Fighting type.

Abilities, Moves, & Other Considerations:
I’m going to take a cue from Tauros, and say that the abilities Anger Point, Intimidate, and Sheer Force would all work well with a Minotaur Pokemon.
As for moves, Circle Throw, Close Combat, and Hammer Arm would all work well, plus any other Fighting moves.
Bulldoze, Rage, Giga Impact, and Frustration would also fit the theme.
